The requirements for participation in the Multicam Video Editing Competition are detailed below.
Please read the content and submission requirements carefully before submitting your entry. Entries that do not meet the requirements will not be considered.
Submission Materials
Each entry must include the following:
1: Three Synchronised Raw Video Files
3 separate raw video files shot simultaneously of the same subject from different angles:
The files you upload should have the trimmed beginning, ensuring the first frame of each raw video file is synchronised. We recommend using a clue eg a hand-clap at the beginning to help.
Do not edit the content of the raw video beyond trimming the beginning for synchronisation.
Maximum Raw Video Duration: 15 minutes per video. You may choose to use shorter footage.
2: Edit Decision List Document
A Google Sheets document detailing your edits, referencing the source raw video files, so we can understand and appreciate your creative choices.
The EDL document must include:
- From Time Code: The start time of the clip in the edit, in mins:sec:frames (e.g., 00:05:30:15).
- To Time Code: The end time of the clip used in the edit.
- Choice: which of the three raw video files was used (e.g., Camera 1 (User-mounted Cam), Camera 2 (Overhead Cam) , Camera 3 (User-facing Cam).
- Rationale: Briefly explain your reasoning.
- Transitions: please indicate type, duration (if applicable) and rationale.

3: One Finished Edited Video
Your final edited video, created using the three synchronised raw video files.
Maximum Edited Video Duration: 60 seconds

4: Other Requirements
Raw video should ideally be recorded at 1080 resolution and 60 frames per second (1080/60).
If your raw footage was shot at a different resolution and frame rate, please clearly indicate this at the top of your EDL document.
Please include your the Gmail you used to submit your entry on your EDL document.
